Dress Code

The purpose of the dress code is to:

  • provide a means of identification and belonging to Baker Middle School
  • provide for a neat and orderly appearance appropriate for school



We require that all Baker students are wearing our approved Baker uniform shirt, which can be purchased from our main office.  We sell short and long sleeved shirts that come in gold or maroon.  Youth and adult sizes are available in all styles.  Click here to view prices.

We do not allow:

  • other shirts and/or logos
  • bare midriffs

The length of a student's shirts must not extend past the fingertips when their hands are extended at the sides, or we will require that the shirt is tucked in and belted.



Pants, shorts, capris and jeans must be worn in tan, navy or black only.

We do not allow:

  • sweats
  • fleece
  • sportswear
  • leggings
  • nylon
  • skirts
  • holes and/or rips

Pants must be worn at the waist and no larger than one size up. Shorts must be no more than three inches above the knee. Hems must be neatly and securely stitched.



We require that all Baker students who wish to wear hoodies purchase their hoodie from the main office.  We sell three hoodies: black, maroon and gold, each in a different style.  Click here to view prices​.​

We do not allow:

  • other shirts hoodies and/or logos
  • hoods to be worn in the building

Please consult the office before adding last names to the backs of Baker sweatshirts; specific guidelines apply.



All shoes must be athletic or dress shoes.  All shoes must have heel straps or backs.

We do not allow:

  • flip flops
  • sports sandals
  • slippers
  • moccasins



Belts must be worn through the loops and cannot hang down.  The design must be appropriate.

We do not allow:

  • spikes
  • dog collars
  • chains
  • bandanas
  • doo-rags
  • gloves
  • leather collars
  • rubber bands at the bottom of pants
  • hats
  • sweatbands

Coats and all other outerwear must be stored in lockers.  Coats may only be worn during lunchtime.


Our Baker Middle School dress code is designed to help students focus on learning.  It also contributes to our safe and orderly school environment.  Students must dress appropriately and according to school rules.  Underclothing that is not part of the uniform cannot be visible.  There will be no modifications to intended style.  Please consult the office before adding last names to the backs of Baker sweatshirts; specific guidelines apply.  Students must remain in dress code the entire school day, including arrival and departure.  Students who do not comply with the Baker uniform will face consequences.

CIVI DAYS: Students are required to dress appropriately and according to the guidelines set forth by ASB and/or staff and administration.  Questions regarding civi day attire must be clarified beforehand.

All Baker staff/administrators/parents are responsible for monitoring and enforcing dress standard compliance.
