I want to share a great opportunity with you. Parks Tacoma in partnership with Tacoma Public Schools has created The INVERSA Power League. It is a citywide initiative designed to expand athletic opportunities for middle school student-athletes across Tacoma.

Together, we are reimagining youth sports by creating a league structure that allows students to compete in a “like vs. like” environment, ensuring that all players experience meaningful competition, growth, and development, regardless of previous experience or ability level.

Each student-athlete represents their school community with pride, wearing school-branded uniforms, training with dedicated coaches, and participating in a structured season that culminates in a citywide end-of-season showcase tournament.

By integrating Tacoma Public Schools’ commitment to equitable access and Parks Tacoma’s leadership in community-based recreation, the INVERSA Power League creates a sustainable, inclusive pathway for youth to build skills, confidence, and belonging through sport.

Current Programs:

• Boys Soccer Power League
• Girls Flag Football Power League (pilot program)

Each program runs for 10 weeks, includes paid coaching staff trained through the INVERSA curriculum, and focuses on fun, teamwork, and personal growth, because every student deserves the chance to play, compete, and represent their school with pride. Let them play. Watch them rise.
