Hello Baker Families,

This is Principal Amy Latimer with your weekly updates.  I hope my voice becomes a weekly reminder to you that we are a community, and we are all stakeholders in the work of educating our students. It is my goal that these weekly messages provide a space for communication, clarity and connection.

We are now in full swing of school and all programs are up and running.  Please keep in mind that for student safety, our school fields and playgrounds are closed until after school programs and sports are complete each day at 4:30.  If students remain on campus, they must be in a supervised activity.  This includes sports or the Bulldog Center. All other students will be asked to leave. If students want to attend and be spectators at home games, they must follow the following rules:

1. They must wait by the gym doors immediately after school to be let into the gym for the games.  Once the gym supervisors are there and the student section has been set up, students will be allowed in. 
2. They may not leave campus and then return.  Students will be turned away if they are not present when let into the gym.
3. Students are to sit in the student section. This leaves room in our stands for parents of both teams.  While in the student section, there are no cellphones. We encourage students to cheer and engage in watching their classmates play.
4. Once students leave the gym, they may not return.

If your child participates in Club B, known as the Bulldog Center, here are some reminders that will help the day run smoothly: 

• Please pack a snack for your child to have during their after-school program.  

• Please be sure to pick up your child by 4:30
• Your child may not leave the program without your permission, so please be sure to communicate with our staff if your child is going to be leaving early.

As a reminder, students should not bring energy drinks, coffee drinks, or similar beverages to school. These drinks can negatively impact student focus, learning, and overall well-being during the school day. In addition, our classrooms have a no food or drink policy, other than water, to help maintain a clean and productive learning environment. Thank you for your support.
