Hello Baker Families,

This is Principal Amy Latimer. We are so excited to welcome all our Bulldogs back to school tomorrow. The first day is always a bit chaotic as we all get settled into the new school year and new routines. Here are some important reminders to help make this first week as smooth as possible. Please know, that if you don’t listen to this full message, the exact same information will be in the email that comes before this phone call.

1. We will be starting the day in advisory classrooms. All students will receive paper copies of their schedule tomorrow morning in this class. We realize that many students don’t know who their advisory teacher is. No worries, we’ve got that covered. We will have many adults on hand to start the day to help guide students to the correct place.  We will also have rosters posted throughout campus for students to check.  If you child is a returning student, they can check StudentVue before tomorrow morning to confirm their advisory teacher.
    
2. We know that our parking lot can be a busy and crowded experience first thing in the morning. Please help us keep traffic moving by quickly dropping your child off and then leaving.  Please do not get out of the car to say goodbye to your child. We will have plenty of adults available to support any first day nerves or anxieties.
    
3. The expectation is that all students will be in uniform on the first day. If you have not been able to buy uniforms yet, please realize that we will not be selling uniforms until Friday after school.  Please do not come into the office to try and purchase.  We will not be available for these sales. Our office staff will be fully focused on helping all students adjust to the first day.
    
4. This a reminder that Baker is 100% cellphone free. This means from the time students enter building until the exit we do not allow cellphones. They need to be turned off and stored in students’ backpacks. If you need to get ahold of your child during the school day please call our front office and we can either get a message directly to your student, or we can arrange to have your child come to the office to talk to you.
